Can you tell we’re really passionate about food? Especially if it’s Italian with a taste of old New York — Hi, have you met Caffè di Marzano? Inspired by one of its founder’s personal story — although his family immigrated to the United States, they never lost touch with their Italian roots — the café boasts a classic concept with a modern twist: its enticing menu changes throughout the day, and at night the coffee house transforms into a charming wine bar for those beloved pre-dinner drinks. Although we don’t have favourites, this project holds a special place in our heart…and stomach. With a singular idea set from the start — to transport anyone who enters its doors into a classic coffeeshop in the streets of the Big Apple — we were inspired to stop for a minute and, yes, smell the coffee. With Lisbon being Europe’s new hidden gem, its famous sidewalks are busier than ever, from tourists looking to hit every attraction in town to lisboetas looking for the last few quiet spots to enjoy the city’s incredible weather. With Caffè di Marzano, we wanted to gift every busy bee with a place to escape the urban jungle and revel in minutes (or hours) of silence in the company of mouth-watering dishes — believe us, the pancakes are simply divine. So, with this in mind, we build upon the idea of “slowing down” and living life peacefully. From the soothing blue and beige palette and traditional font to the spot’s sophisticated marble tabletops and newspaper-like menus, every detail was strategically designed to make customers feel relaxed and comfortable — because how can you truly appreciate te a cup of coffee in a hurry?
